All international students are entitled to the same student assistance services as Italian students, on the basis of the same requisites of financial means and/or merit. That is to say applying to scholarships, student loans, housing assistance, canteen meal tickets and fee waivers.
The tuition fees amount for BACHELOR and MASTER of Science courses is determined yearly by the Politecnico di Torino board; generally it is payable in two instalments:
- the first one is to be paid when you enrol
- the second one in March.
It is very useful, before arrival, to download the "Fee regulations" ( Regolamento tasse).
Some students benefit from a fee exemption or reduction according to their family financial situation.
The requirements that EU and Extra-EU students must meet, in order to gain such benefits, are yearly set.
If you are a foreign student, living and working in Italy or with a family that works in Italy, you can present the documents related to your financial situation with the same procedures and deadlines as the Italian students.
If you are a foreign student, resident abroad, before coming to Italy you will need to get an official document about:
- the family composition
- the family income (economic condition) of the whole family unit
- the family properties
These declarations must be translated into Italian and certified by the Italian Embassy or Consulate.
When you will arrive at the Politecnico di Torino, you will have to present these declarations to the CAF office, afterwards the CAF will issue a document called " Attestazione ISEE".
With the ISEE, you will be able to apply to the EDISU Piemonte for scholarships, refectory card, rooms in Halls of Residences.
EDISU (Ente per il Diritto allo Studio Universitario): there is such an agency in each Italian region; it has the task to set up and run the necessary student welfare services in conformity to the current legal provisions.
