Facilities for exchange students

Politecnico provides students coming in the frame of exchange programmes with accommodations at a special price at dormitories or residences.

Due to the limited availability of accommodation in Torino, it is hard to find a cheap furnished accommodation. As Politecnico does not have accommodation on the campus, all guests will be accommodated in Torino or in the close surroundings. The Politecnico can mediate for a room or a house (only upon arrival), depending on students' needs and financial possibilities.

The Foreign Citizens Services Unit of Politecnico di Torino provides accommodation of two types:

  •  for short periods (15 days - 1 month)
     Students will be allocated in double rooms (one room with two single beds) with cooking facilities and bathroom in common. This is the best solution for those who are willing to find a private apartment to share with foreign/Italian students.
  •  for long periods (3 - 6 months)
     Students will be allocated in apartments made up of one double and one single room with kitchen and bathroom. The rental agreement is legally binding for the entire period of the contract and it may only be extended.

For students who will spend the whole Academic Year or longer at Politecnico di Torino , is advisable to book a room in the Politecnico hosting facilities for a short period (15 days-1 month) and then to look for a private flat with the Foreign Citizens Services Unit assistance. Due to the limited availability of hosting facilities, it is not possible to book a room for the whole Academic Year.

Accommodation proposals are sent to students according to their arrival date and to the period they need an accommodation for, not on the basis of the students' preferences.
