EDISU Piemonte ( Ente per il Diritto allo Studio Universitario) runs several canteens where you can have a meal in a friendly atmosphere near the place where your courses are held.
EDISU offers a wide range of highly nutritious meals based on the Mediterranean diet, which is considered to be the healthiest in the world and is therefore the most imitated.
Considering the fact that some students avoid certain foods on religious grounds or for other specific reasons, Edisu usually offers two or three options to choose from, one of which will be vegetarian. The full meal consists of a starter, a main dish, vegetables, fresh fruit or dessert, water and bread, while the mini meal is different in each canteen. In the university restaurants Galliari, Principe Amedeo, Lungodora and Castelfidardo it is possibile to have gluten-free meals. In order to access the service you have to download the proper booking form from the website:
http://www.edisu.piemonte.it/cms/ristorazione.html#celiaci
You can have both lunch and dinner in the students’ canteens. The full charge is 7.00 Euros for the full meal and 5.00 Euros for a mini meal.
If you are prospective International student (out of exchange programmes) please visit for information about how to apply, service and costs (it depends on income): http://www.edisu.piemonte.it/cms/ristorazione.html
You can try to have the reduced fare (according to your income) submitting a form to the EDISU office. Enclose with the form, you must submit the documents related to your financial and real estate status, as listed below:
· composition of the family unit at the 31st of December of the previous year
· revenue generated abroad at the 31st of December of the previous year (related to all the members of the family unit)
· property and real estate assets generated abroad at the 31st of December of the previous year
These certificates or declarations have to be issued by the competent authorities of the state where the family income is generated.
For Extra-Ue students, whose income, property and real estate are generated abroad, the certificates or declarations must be translated into Italian and legalised by the Italian Embassy or Consulate operating in the country where the same declarations have been issued.
In Italy you will have to submit these documents to a CAF office and apply for the Attestazione ISEE/ISEU; this document attests the economic situation of your family.
With the ISEE/ISEEU you will be able to apply for the reduced fare for the EDISU canteens.
All the students participating in exchange programmes (Erasmus, Bilateral Agreements etc.) can benefit from the lowest fare: € 2,50 for the full meal and € 1,60 for the mini meal.
Your Politecnico student card will allow you to eat at the students’ refectories.
IMPORTANT: should you extend your stay at Politecnico, always in the frame of an exchange programme, ask the Foreign Citizens Services Office or the Mobility Unit- Incoming about how to recharge your student card for having the lowest fare in the canteens.
