There are Faculty Libraries and many small libraries in the various Institutes. Any registered student (with the Smart Card) can use the institute, faculty and main libraries. Books are lent for a period of 14 days, which can be extended, unless another person has reserved them. Further information can be obtained at the libraries.
To be admitted to Libraries, you must show your Smart Card you are given when you register in Politecnico di Torino.
Libraries have over 250.000 items in stock and subscribe over a thousand periodicals a year. Some books belong to old collections coming from the " Scuola di applicazione per gli ingegneri" and the " Museo Industriale", some other have been bought at the antiquarian markets.
Every year Libraries buy 2.000 books on the average.
Students are asked to bring their laptop computers with them, as they will have the possibility of connecting to the WI-FI (wireless LAN) at the Politecnico campus.
All students of the Politecnico di Torino have free access to Computer Labs located in Corso Duca degli Abruzzi or in Valentino Castle.
In Engineering Faculties (Corso Duca degli Abruzzi 24) you can find many computer labs and some of them are located on the second floor (entrance from the Unicredit Bank). It is mandatory to reserve a computer if you want to use Internet (no more than two hours per day) writing to :

To be admitted to L.A.I.B. you must show your Politecnico Smart Card.
In Politecnico - Main Campus (Corso Duca degli Abruzzi) there is a Medical Service ( Infermeria) for first aid, not just for ordinary medical treatments.

Please notice that all Politecnico students benefit from an accident health insurance yearly taken out by the Politecnico itself. If you want more information about it you must contact the Foreign Citizens Services Unit.
There is a bank at the Politecnico di Torino main building. This is a branch of the "UNICREDIT - Bank" and it is located in the Via d'Ovidio.
In Italy it is possible to pay by bancomat (ATM), credit cards (Visa, American Express, Master Card, etc.) and cheques. They are widely accepted in hotels, restaurants, railway stations, shops and supermarkets in all large cities.
There is one inside Politecnico main building next to the bank.

In the Politecnico di Torino there are many students associations, dealing with sport, cultural events, cinema.

Leisure, theatre, concerts are offered at special "student prices" by the Politecnico di Torino. For any information you can visit Polincontri ( Associazione per la cultura, lo sport, il tempo libero) is an association whose offices are located on the 3 rd floor in the main corridor from Corso Einaudi (the Polincontri Box is next to Bar Katia).

Students trips and holiday offers are available at CTS, a Student Tourist Centre which has several branches all over Italy and works to obtain the best prices for young and students. It is located in Corso Duca degli Abruzzi 24.
