Students exchange application form

Please read this information carefully. These instructions are ONLY valid for foreign students who plan to study at the Politecnico di Torino within the framework of an exchange programme (Erasmus+, Bilateral-Agreements, Erasmus/Mundus, Smile, students in the frame of the Double Degree Agreements, CSE,Ciencias sem Frontieras...).

Application deadline:

18 JUNE 2014

for the academic year 2014/2015 fall semester/full academic year.

the application form will be open from April 23rd, 2014.

14 NOVEMBER 2014

for the academic year 2014/2015 spring semester.

the application form will be open from October 14th, 2014.

Late applications will not be considered.

 Your application will be considered complete and the Politecnico di Torino will be able to process it only when you click on SAVE AND SUBMIT!

Important things to know before filling in the form

-   Italian language requirements

Exchange students in the frame of an Exchange programme, in order to be admitted, must have at least B1 (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) as recommended level of English or Italian according to the courses expected during the study period at the Politecnico di Torino.

Candidates must attach to their online application form the required language certificates at least within June, 18th 2014 (mandatory deadline in order to submit the online application form).

- Italian language courses

Politecnico di Torino offers free elective Italian language courses (levels A2 and B1). If you want to attend the courses you must take the level test before submitting the application form within June, 18th 2014. 

The Italian level test consists of a multiple choice test and lasts 45 minutes. It can be taken ONCE ONLY. The Italian level test is designed to put students in a class which reflects their true level of Italian. During the Welcome Orientation Meeting you will be informed about the timetable of the course.

We inform you that, if you don't know the Italian language, you can find the Italian language course level A1 in streaming in the section called "Language resources" of your application form.

Please note: students in the frame of "Ciencia Sem Fronteiras" MUST take the level test to be inserted to the B1 or B2 Italian Language course as expected by the programme.

-   English language requirements

What you need to know about the online application form

The online application is intended to provide general information about the applicant and the home university. It is completed and submitted on-line. When you will enter for the first time into the page you will be asked to enter with your E-MAIL account. This e-mail account is the one given to the Erasmus office or International Relations office of your home University when we are informed about the nominated/selected students.

DO NOT FILL IN THE FORM IF YOUR UNIVERSITY HAS NOT SENT US YOUR E-MAIL!

Before beginning, please make sure to have all the information you need to complete your application. There is no time limit to fill it in and it can be completed in multiple sessions.

Your application will be considered complete and the Politecnico di Torino will be able to process it only when you click on SAVE AND SUBMIT. After that it will not be possible to make any changes.

After the save and submit, if you wish, you can ask for support in the accommodation search.

The first section of the application form consists of a registration in which you provide your biographical information. After registering, you will receive within 12 h. a confirmation of the registration on the email account you provided. This email will provide you a personal username and a password. With this username and password, you will be able to re-enter the application form and continue with your application, selecting the level and field of study which you are interested in.

If your application will be submitted successfully, you will receive a message to the e-mail account you have entered.

 It is very important to verify that all the information provided is correct

You may be asked to attach the following documentation:

1. Academic transcript of records*

This document must be a printed list of all courses you have taken to date at your home university and the grades you have received. Documents can be presented in English, French, Spanish or Portuguese and stamped and signed by officials at your home university.

2. Proposal of Learning Agreement (study plan)*

This form specifies the courses which you apply to at the Politecnico di Torino and/or the final project you would like to carry out at our Institution. Please note that your application is a preliminary Learning Agreement. You will choose the courses together with the Politecnico di Torino Academic Advisor at your arrival.
You could find a template of the proposal of learning agreement: ECTS_14_15 application/msword (40.00 kB) In order to fill it in correctly please note:

- In the proposal you must choose courses from the academic offer of Polito correspondent to the major in which you are enrolled in your home University (i.e. same field/area of study).

- You can find the programme syllabus of your field of study in the section called "exchange programmes" of your application form. The syllabus gives you useful information about the courses offered.

- Exchange students CANNOT choose courses from the first year of the first level (Bachelor's degree).

- Exchange students CANNOT include language courses other than the Italian.

- Due to the high number of students interested and to the limited number of available places we CANNOT guarantee the enrollment to the Architecture Workshops and the Ateliers/Laboratories. 

- Full degree or Double degree students are requested to pick up courses ONLY from the bachelor or master of science for which they are applying.

3. Copy of passport or ID card (EU citizens)*, only the page with photo and personal page.

4. For ERASMUS+ students*:
 - Declaration of the "ERASMUS" status. You should have a document, issued by your institution, confirming your status as an Erasmus student.

For other exchange students*:

- Nominated e-mail or letter by home university with the list of nominated students. You should have a document, issued by your institution, confirming your status as an Exchange student regularly registered at your home institution.

For Erasmus/Mundus students*:

- Scholarship letter offer.

The information you will enter, will be stored in a database of the Politecnico di Torino and treated according to "Legge sul trattamento dei dati personali Dlgs. 196/2003" (Italian law on the treatment of personal data).

Our responsibilities concerning the application

Note that we do not consider or process:

  •  incomplete applications
  •  online applications without attachments
  •  online applications without any language certification. Remember you must attach the documents within June 18th, 2014.

What happens after receiving your online application

Exchange students:

Your application will be evaluated by the International Mobility Board.

Starting from July 10th (NEW DATE!), 2014 you will be able to view the results of the selection outcomes in your personal page (“main section”) and you will be able to print your acceptance letter. Please do not contact the Incoming Mobility Office or any other contact persons before in order to receive an update of your selection status.

The Incoming Mobility Office will send by e-mail to the admitted students the invitation letter in order to apply for the study visa at the Italian Embassy in their country.

Erasmus/Mundus Grantees: since you are already admitted, the learning agreement proposal only will be evaluated by your assigned academic advisor. Moreover, the application form will be useful for the office in charge in order to speed up the enrolment procedure and to book a room in the Politecnico hosting facilities.

After the submission, the Incoming Mobility Office will send by e-mail to Erasmus/Mundus students the invitation letter in order to apply for the study visa at the Italian Embassy in their country.

By filling in the online application you can ask for support in the accommodation search.
