Getting around Torino by metro

Line 1 of the Torino Underground that connect Rivoli - Cascine Vica - Collegno - Porta Nuova - Lingotto - Piazza Bengasi have a total length of around 28 km.

MetroTorino use the VAL (Automated Light Vehicle) system, the very best solution from the safety, reliability and cost standpoint.

In Torino there is a train every 2 minutes in peak hours and every 4/6 minutes during the remaining operating period.

Trains and stations are equipped with video surveillance and smoke detection systems that, together with the absence of closed spaces and an intercom system linked to the Command and Control Point (PCC), guarantee maximum safety for users.

Both stations (equipped with lifts and touch-guided paths for the visually impaired) and trains (that have spaces reserved for passengers in wheelchairs and pneumatic levelling for smooth access) have been conceived to provide total accessibility for all types of user, including those who have mobility problems.
