Double degree/Joint Degree

If you have been selected for a Double/Joint Degree programme, you can find general information in the table below. Further information can be found in the agreement signed by both your sending Institution and the Politecnico di Torino or by contacting the Incoming Mobility office.


Time to attain the degree:

18/24 month stay depending on the specific agreement and upon completion of your study plan arranged with your advisor


The preparation of the final project:

The final project is prepared during the last semester at the Politecnico di Torino, students have to work at least 6 months to prepare their final project. Unless stated in the agreement, students cannot prepare their thesis at their Home University, however they can prepare it in another University or company in Italy, previous approval by their two thesis supervisors (both at the Politecnico and at their Home University) or around the world applying to Mobilità per tesi su proposta



every Double Degree agreement specifies the number of ECTS that students must obtain in order to graduate at Politecnico di Torino.


Final project's mark:

in the Italian university system the final project does not have a mark. The Degree Committee will assign an overall grade based on the grades average, the quality of the final project and its presentation.


Language requirements for graduation

In order to graduate at the Politecnico di Torino you are required to obtain the following language certificates:

-       IELTS 5 or (IELTS 5.5 for Master of Science in Automotive engineering) and Italian language level A2 if enrolled in courses taught in English

-       IELTS 5 or (IELTS 5.5 for Master of Science in Automotive engineering) and Italian language level B1 if enrolled in courses taught in Italian
